Never, EVER give up!

Welcome to 2014!

I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you a very happy and prosperous New Year!

I hope you have taken time over the Christmas break to reflect upon all of your successes and the great moments throughout 2013! As most of you know I am a big believer in reflection and gratitude as it gives us the inner strength and desire to keep
going and take on the next challenge! Make sure you take the good times and the learning’s from 2013 with you into the new year, pat yourself on the back and leave behind the not so good times knowing that you grew stronger just by going through them.

While doing my personal goal setting for the year ahead over the break, I came across a great TED TALK and thought it may be worth including in my new year’s message to you. Diana Nyad talks about her epic effort at 64 years of age to swim 100 miles from Cuba to Florida to achieve her ultimate goal. I personally really enjoyed listening to her words and it reminded me how important it is to go out and give our best every day, chase our dreams and never, EVER give up on what we believe in!

Obviously, being a new year when we are all thinking about “what’s next”….I couldn’t help but share this with you!

Diana talks about her desire to look back on her life with no regrets, these were her 3 key messages:

1)     Never EVER give up!
 2)     Chase your dreams – it’s never too late!
3)     Find a way!“The brave one gets in the ring, gets dirty and fails over and over again, but yet isn’t afraid and isn’t  timid –they live life in a bold way and back themselves 100% until they find their way!”

See Diana’s full talk here. It is worth the watch.

I encourage you, like Diana…..to find a way this year and don’t stop until you achieve what you are looking for. We all have obstacles in our way, but if you believe and you have faith and you can get knocked down and get back up again and you believe in perseverance as a great human quality – you will find YOUR way!

I will leave you with this to ponder in 2014…………
